Pivot Architecture
Project Overview ︎︎︎
Pivot Architecture is a branding project that centers around achieving a modern and minimalist aesthetic.
The inspiration for the logo derives from the robust form of a "triangle" in architecture. While preserving the foundational shape of the logo, I infused a creative touch by introducing a sense of perspective. The top part of the logo functions like the horizontal beam of a building, and the diagonal represents the vertical one. Subtle changes in color and text orientation create a visual effect, with the darker triangle reinforcing the notion of a strong and reliable company.
The overall shape of the logo forms an arrow pointing to the upper right, symbolizing the business's upward trajectory and its ambition to excel in the industry.

Challenge ︎︎︎
The challenge lies in ensuring that the logo not only captures the strength and reliability of the company but also aligns seamlessly with the industry's visual language. Achieving this balance requires thoughtful consideration of color, shape, and overall design elements to resonate with the target audience and stand out in a competitive architectural landscape.
Solution ︎︎︎
Capturing a contemporary and dynamic perspective, while emphasizing strength and reliability. Incorporate clean typography to align with contemporary design trends, ensuring a cohesive and impactful brand identity for Pivot Architecture.
Process Overview
Research ︎︎︎ Ideation & Concept ︎︎︎ Visuals ︎︎︎ Refinement
Reseach ︎︎︎
In the research phase, I focused on analyzing existing architecture company logos and naming conventions. My findings revealed that companies typically derive their names either from their business philosophy or the founder's name. Opting for a name inspired by business philosophy allows for more creative exploration and flexibility in the branding process.
Ideation & Concept ︎︎︎
The project commenced with brainstorming fifty names related to the architecture theme. From the suggestions, "Pivot" was chosen as the most fitting name. Initially grappling with the challenge of designing a logo that effectively communicates perspective and movement, I carefully selected a logo with the utmost potential to build a comprehensive brand identity.
Visual ︎︎︎
The logo employs a triangle shape to symbolize robust structures and convey the concept of pivoting. Recognizing the versatility of this shape, I explored 46 logo variations, primarily based on the text "Pivot." However, during the process, I found that interpretations based on abstract shapes were more intriguing and better communicated the idea of pivoting. After careful consideration, I selected the simplest yet most promising design among the options.
Refinement ︎︎︎
In the refinement phase, aside from incorporating the creative approach mentioned earlier, I introduced rounded corners to soften the logo's appearance and make it less aggressive. Additionally, I utilized the triangular shape to craft a versatile pattern suitable for various scenarios in the company's brand usage. Opting for a color scheme of light gray, bright green, and dark gray, I aimed to accentuate the brand's energy while preserving the reliable nature expected of an architecture firm.
Final Outcome ︎︎︎
Personal Takeaway︎︎︎
This project has been a journey of exploration and refinement, highlighting the importance of creative flexibility. The process of evolving from initial concepts to the final logo emphasized the significance of simplicity and effective communication in design. Learning to balance visual impact with a welcoming aesthetic has been a valuable lesson, providing insights applicable to future branding endeavors.
