Jane Goodall: Conservation in Three Formats
A school project exploring conservation through three formats: a commemorative coin concept, printed information and a short motion piece about habitat loss.

The starting point
Connect Jane Goodall’s conservation work with a wider story about deforestation. Each format needed its own way of communicating: a small symbolic object, a longer printed explanation and a time-based narrative.
The direction
Use imagery and symbols appropriate to each medium. The coin brings together a portrait, binoculars and a chimpanzee; print adds context and data; motion addresses habitat loss over time.
Different formats, a shared conservation theme.

School-project motion piece. Research and source imagery are discussed in the original project.
How the idea took shape.
01
Choose symbols that work at coin scale.
The coin exploration compares portraits and conservation imagery. The final concept pairs a portrait with a chimpanzee seen through a binocular-inspired window.

02
Give the story room to expand.
The brochure complements the small coin with space for imagery and written context. An information-design piece and motion extend the topic from a commemorative object to habitat loss.

A revised version could make the relationship between all formats more explicit and improve the visibility of data sources, dates and units. Any updated statistics should be checked against their original sources.
